DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Johannesburg, Sandton, Gauteng
Duration: 3 months
Salary: R5 000 per month CTC

Now Media (Pty) Ltd is offering a Journalist Internship opportunity to graduates interested in gaining experience with working in a new-age newsroom environment with a team of specialist journalists and editors.

The intern will rotate between 3 trade publications, on a monthly basis, in order to acquire a variety of editorial input and experience while maintaining some administrative tasks across publications.
 

The intern will have the following responsibilities and duties:

  • Administrative duties: uploading articles daily across titles and managing the website back-end
  • Assisting journalists and editors with research and client follow-ups
  • Managing social media platforms
  • Attending functions

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must have completed a Degree in any of these fields: Journalism, English, or Communications
  • Must have excellent command of the English language (written and spoken)
  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Must have your own vehicle
  • Must pay close attention to detail
  • Must be highly organised
  • Must have strong time management skills
  • Must be able to work under pressure
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Must have a positive attitude
  • Must be proactive
  • Must deliver quality work
  • Must be outgoing
  • Must be comfortable with networking
  • Must enjoy the challenge of daily deadlines and finding stories
  • Must have experience in story writing and copy editing
  • Must be vaccinated
