ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:
The Road Accident Fund (RAF) is a juristic person established by the South African Parliament. The RAF was first established in 1997 and is responsible for ensuring that all road users within South Africa receive cover, rehabilitation, and compensation regarding road-related accidents and in a timely manner. The RAF also ensures to promote and educate the people of South Africa about the safe use of our country's roads.
DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:
Location: Centurion, Gauteng
Duration: 18 months
Number of positions available: 4
The Road Accident Fund is offering an ICT Service Desk learnership opportunity to youth who have completed Matric. The programme taking place at the Road Accident Fund's Head Office, in Centurion.
The learnership aims to provide unemployed learners with the opportunity to attain valuable work experience. The successful candidate will receive a monthly stipend throughout the duration of the programme and upon successful completion of the programme, the candidate will also obtain a SAQA qualification.
The learners will be required to complete 30% learning and 70% workplace learning components – they will attend classes and complete assignments/portfolios of evidence. After completion of the programme, learners will be awarded a formal qualification.
The programme (workplace exposure) will include the following:
- Incidents and Service requests – the logging, tracking, escalating, communicating thereof.
- Prioritizing calls for fast response on urgent matters.
- Providing administrative services in relation to ICT Service Desk (including receipt and processing of access request forms)
- Escalating unresolved problems to second line support.
- Following up with Users and customer engineers, in order to ensure that User problem is resolved quickly.
- Monitoring incidents or requests according to priority.
- Ensuring that information captured from seoncd line is relevant to calls logged.
- Maintaining a Knowledge Library of incidents resolved.
- Generating reports regularly on incidents reported and documented solutions developed.
- Report on external services provided by External Service Providers ensuring they adhere to SLA agreed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

- Must have completed Matric/ Grade 12
- Must be unemployed
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old
- Must be computer literate
- Must have excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Must NOT have been previously employed in the same field
- Must NOT have previously participated in another learnership programme
