DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Bellville, Cape Town, Western Cape

Sanlam is offering an Actuarial internship opportunity to graduates in the field.
This programme allows candidates to be exposed to the inner workings of the company and learn about its products and systems. Once the candidate has mastered this, they will be exposed to the technical positions offered at Sanlam and have the opportunity to further develop their skills and abilities as an actuary.

The candidate's performance and progression within the company will be dependant on their actuarial exam results and on-the-job performance.
 

Key performance areas of the programme:

  • Performing actuarial duties such as performing, preparing, and analysing actuarial audits and research (under direct supervision)
  • Data collecting from various databases
  • Performing standard mathematical calculations

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African Citizen
  • Must have completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science
  • Must qualify for a minimum of 6 exemptions when you graduate
  • Must have excellent computer skills
  • Must have exceptional skills in Microsoft Office (non-negotiable)
  • Must have excellent analytical abilities
  • Must have excellent actuarial problem-solving abilities
  • Must have issues management skills
  • Must be able to work well in a team
  • Must have high attention to detail
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must have integrity
  • Must have excellent communication skills (written and oral)

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with customers
