DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:
Location: Mossel Bay, Western Cape
Salary: Level 7 - R261 372 per annum, excluding 37% service benefits
The South Cape TVET College is various learnership opportunities, for qualified artisans who wish to further enhance their skills whilst teaching their expertise to learners with educational difficulties.
The following learnerships positions are available:
- Facilitator: Plumber
- Facilitator: Welder
- Facilitator: Community Health Worker
- Facilitator: Professional Cookery
- Facilitator: New Venture Creation L2
Key performance areas of the programmes:
- Ensuring that the Occupational Health programme, SETA, and QCTO accredited is organised and implemented through various delivery sites in the Southern Cape and Klein Karoo
- Visiting workplaces to give learners subject and practice-related guidance and monitoring
- Ensuring quality delivery of teaching and learning as well as monitoring the workplace
- Adhering to College/ SETA educational processes, policies, and procedures
- Working closely with the Programme Manager
- Taking responsibility and accountability for all tasks, including administration
- Completing any other tasks assigned to you
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
- Facilitator: Plumber: must be a qualified Artisan – Red Seal Trade as Plumber
- Facilitator: Welder: must be a qualified Artisan – Red Seal Trade as Welder
- Facilitator: Community Health Worker: must have completed Matric, a 3 year qualification in Public Health, Community Health or Public Health Nutrition (degree or diploma) and have 1 to 3 years relevant experience in the community health field
- Facilitator: Professional Cookery: must have completed Matric, a 3 year qualification in Culinary Arts/ Qualified Chef (degree or diploma) and have 1 to 3 years relevant experience in the hospitality field
- Facilitator: New Venture Creation L2: must have completed Matric, a 3 year qualification (degree or diploma) and have 1 to 3 years relevant experience in the business field
- Facilitator: Welder: must be registered as an Assessor with the MERSETA
- Facilitator: Plumber: must be registered as an Assessor with the CETA
- Facilitator: Community Health Worker: must be registered as an Assessor with the Health & Welfare SETA
- Facilitator: Professional Cookery: must be registered as an Assessor with the CATHSSETA
- Facilitator: New Venture Creation L2: must be registered as an Assessor with the Services SETA
- Must have relevant work within the industry
- Advantageous: completed a teacher's Diploma
- Must have teaching/ facilitating experience in the above-mentioned field
- Must be proficient in 2 of the Western Cape's official languages
- Must have a valid Code-8 driver's license
- Must be proficient in MS Office
- Must have excellent writing skills
- Must be energetic
- Must strive for success
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Must have experience in working with students with learning disabilities
- Must have knowledge and experience in assessing various learning styles with the necessary teaching approaches
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Must be willing to work after hours
