ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE LEARNERSHIP:
Spur Corporation is a growing multi-brand restaurant franchisor, headquartered in Cape Town. The group currently has eight brands, namely, Spur Steak Ranches, Spur Grill & Go, Panarottis Pizza Pasta, John Dory’s Fish Grill Sushi, RocoMamas, The Hussar Grill, Casa Bella and Nikos Coalgrill Greek.
DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMMES:
Location: Century City, Cape Town, Western Cape
Duration: 6 months
The Spur Corporation invites students who need internships to complete their training, to apply for the Workplace Integrated Learning (WIL) Internship. The programme will take place over 6 months, at the Head Office in Century City, Cape Town.
The position is for students who are studying towards a qualification in any of these fields: Food Technology, Operations Management, Human Resources Management, Communications, Public Relations, Media Studies.
Candidates will be placed at the various departments within Spur Corporation, Century City and will have an opportunity to acquire all round work experience by fulfilling various duties and responsibilities relevant to the department.
Duties and responsibilities of the programme:
- Peform all work-related duties and responsibilities as required
- Perform all assigned work tasks efficiently and promptly
- Support team members to achieve your learning objectives
- Complete the full 6 month programme
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
- Must be a South African Citizen
- Must be between 18 and 35 years old
- Must reside in Cape Town, within the Western Cape province
- Must have completed Grade 12/Matric
- Must require an internship to complete training in any of these fields of study: Food Technology, Operations Management, Human Resources Management, Communications, Public Relations, Media Studies
- Must be able to complete the 6 month programme
- Must have NOT previously enrolled in a Workplace Integrated Learning (WIL) Internship Programme funded by the Culture, Art, Tourism, Hospitality, and Sport Sector Education and Training Authority (CATHSSETA)
- Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Must be computer literate and have experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Must have excellent organisational skills
- Must pay close attention to detail
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple elements
- Must be able to work well in a team
- Must be energetic, passionate and have integrity
