ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE TRAINING:

Hillsong Africa Foundation created an initiative called The Innovation Hub, which was first launched in August 2019. The Innovation Hub was established as a 'proof-of-concept' initiative; first taking place within the Western Cape at the Philippi Village hub, with 18 students entering the programme. The Innovation Hub believes that with the aid of its partners it can establish pathways for young people to achieve their career goals- something they were not able to do before.
 

DETAILS ABOUT THE APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME:

Locations: Cape Town, Western Cape & Johannesburg, Gauteng
Duration: 9 months

The Innovation Hub is offering a training programme to talented and underprivileged members of the youth. The aim of the initiative is to provide passionate individuals with the opportunity to access and launch themselves into a digital career through traditional channels. The iHub programme aims to give candidates innovative access which will ultimately connect them to the local and global digital economy. The Innovation Hub also aims to use its new and cost-effective approaches to aid candidates in learning the necessary hard and soft skills needed to work a digital economy job.
 

The programme will run from February 2022 until November 2022 and will consist of a 5 day week. Each day of the week will be split between facilitated training (from 09h00 until 12h30) and self-study/ project time for the remainder of the day until 15h00. The programme also consists of a three-phased, multi-track programme, each consisting of 12 content weeks in each of the three tracks:

  • Leadership and Identity: providing timeless servant leadership principles and biblically-based personal identity, value and self-mastery.
  • Digital Marketing Skills: using the already explored broad-based digital fundamentals and then honing on a creative/ analytical stream marketing skills training.
  • Soft Skills for Business: equipping candidates with a toolbelt of skills, behaviours, attitudes, and personal qualities which will aid them in plummeting into the employment market, working well within a team, under pressure, as well as achieving their goals.

 

The programme aims to build its candidates skills within the following aspects:

  • Planning and organizing
  • Self-management
  • Communication
  • Teamwork and co-operation
  • Problem-solving
  • Decision making
  • Critical thinking

All graduates of this programme will have the opportunity to launch as freelancers, be recruited by partner companies, or be assisted in exploring further and advanced learning.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be able to legally work within South Africa
  • Must have completed Matric or equivalent
  • Must be from a previously disadvantaged background (preferable)
  • Must be between the ages of 18 and 30 years old
  • Must be able to commit to the full duration of the programme
  • Must have own, reliable transport
  • Must be proficient in English
  • Must be fully Covid-19 vaccinated
