DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Cape Town, Western Cape
Duration: 3 to 24 months

The Western Cape Government: Corporate Services Centre is offering a Graduate Internship Programme for 2022/2023. The Youth Development Programme is aimed at unemployed graduates within the Western Cape province, offering them the opportunity to gain practical work experience.
 

Key performance areas of the programme - practical on-the-job training will be provided in the following departments:

  • Agriculture
  • Community Safety
  • Cultural Affairs and Sport
  • Department of the Premier
  • Economic Development and Tourism
  • Environmental Affairs & Development Planning
  • Human Settlements
  • Local Government
  • Provincial Treasury
  • Social Development
  • Transport and Public Works

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must be unemployed
  • Must be between the ages of 20 and 35 years old
  • Must reside in the Western Cape province
  • Must have completed one of these qualifications: Certificate (NQF 5), Diploma (NQF 6), Degree (NQF 7) or Post Graduate Qualification (NQF 8 and higher)
  • Must be seeking an opportunity to gain practical work experience
  • Recommended: must not have any network or support to help you make career choices and must be financially
  • Must have strong communication skills (written and verbal) in at least 2 of the official languages of the Western Cape
  • Must have strong planning and organisation skills
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must be able to use MS Office
  • Must be able to operate office equipment
